Welcome back!

Welcome back!  It's been a while.  I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while.  I have been really busy lately.  I've been playing a good bit and getting ready for my wedding which is coming up August 29th.  We are excited.

This week I am in Columbia, SC for the Columbia Championship.  The course is great.  We start on Wednesday and finish on Saturday.

Since the Knoxville Open I have played 3 events on the Tarheel Tour.  In June the Spring Creek Invitational was held in Charlottesville, VA at one of the best courses we play on.  I shot 6 under for the week and a finish of tied for 20th.  I spent July in North Carolina playing two more tarheel events where I clinched a top 10 in Charlotte finishing 9th at 8 under.  After the first round I shot 74 and was in tied for 144th place.  I shot 65 66 the next two days to jump into the top 10.  The following week was in Greensboro where I finished tied for 29th at 7 under.

My game is good, however I need to continue working my way up to the top.  I will be in SC this week and back in Nashville next week for the Capital City Invitational.  The following week I will be back on the Tarheel tour.  Thanks again for following.  Feel free to check the website out at tarheeltour.com

Knoxville Open

As the season continues, I get my first Nationwide Tour stop this year.  This past Monday I shot 66 at Links of Kahite to qualify for the Knoxville Open.  Yesterday was our first round.  Shooting 3 under, 69, put me around a tie for 37th after one round.  The course suits me well.  The greens are perfect.  It's nice to finally get to play some Nationwide this year.  I need to stay out as long as I can.  I have been planning on playing the St. Jude in Memphis this same week however the qualifier was on Tuesday after the Knoxville Open qualifying so I didn't want to drive over night since I already had a place to play for the week.

My game is coming around.  The last couple of weeks I have spent at home working on it.  We always have room to grow but it's getting better everyday.  Please feel free to follow this week at pgatour.com and you can click on Nationwide Tour/ Knoxville Open.

Tennessee State Open recap

The two weeks at home have been nice.  I just finished the Tennessee State Open at Gaylord Springs on Thursday.  It was an ok week but it could have been better.  My putting struggled some however I hit the ball really well.  My swing changes have really progressed.  I finished T7, with scores of 71-69-69.  The greens were much slower than I have been playing lately, which was a tough adjustment for me.  Today I am headed to Greensboro for the Rex Hospital Nationwide qualifier.  The tournament will be in Raleigh, NC from Thursday through Sunday.  This is my first Monday qualifier for the year.  I will be playing two more in the next few weeks.  One in Knoxville and one in Memphis.  Looking forward to a great week.  I will return to the Tarheel Tour in late June.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Week 6 seemed 2 weeks long.  Through numerous rain delays I got my first win for 2009.  Before the week started I had good memories of Walnut Creek Country Club.  I had a chance to win here last year and played solid finishing 5th two shots back.  This year I finished two shots ahead at 19 under for the 72 holes.  69-63-66-67-265  This win puts me at #2 on the money list for the year.

The last two weeks have been great.  I feel like my game has been getting better all year long but has really taken shape in the past month.  The pieces came together in Goldsboro this week.  Walnut Creek is a great golf course with some of the best greens I have played all year.

Coming into the week I knew I liked the golf course and felt confident about my game.  However, my game has made a few adjustments from days prior.  These adjustments became very beneficial for the golf course.   I'll this week and learn a lot from it.  Hopefully there are more to come the rest of the year.

Tuesday May 12th I will be in Memphis, TN for the US Open local qualifying.  The following week I will be playing in the Tennessee State Open at Gaylord Springs in Nashville on the 19th - 21st.  It's nice to be back in Tennessee for a few weeks.  Thanks again for everyone's support.

Week 6

Welcome.
As the season continues I have decided to try and keep everyone updated on my ventures of pursuing professional golf.  It is May and so far the season has started off on a good note.  I hope this blog will be an easy way to follow me for those who are interested.  I have posted a tentative schedule of my tournaments for the rest of the year.  Please feel free to leave any comments.  I will try and keep you updated as well as I can.

I am currently playing the Tarheel Tour for 2009.  The tour is great and I have thoroughly enjoyed the five events I have played in.  I will be playing most weeks in the Carolinas, however we travel to Virginia and Georgia as well.  I will also be participating in Nationwide qualifiers as well as PGA qualifiers.  I plan on playing around 15 events on the Tarheel Tour and around 20 to 25 weeks for the year.  Thanks again for everyone's support.  Looking forward to a great rest of the season.

Coming to week 6 on the Tarheel Tour I am currently in 31st place on the money list.  My best finish has been tied for 6th last week in Charlotte.  Coming off a strong finish last week I feel great about my game.  This week we are in Goldsboro, NC at Walnut Creek Country Club, a course which really suits my game.  I finished 5th at this course back in the fall and hope to play well this coming week starting Wednesday.  The tournament is from Wednesday through Saturday May 9th.  The weather calls for rain but warm weather.  Hopefully we will be able to get four rounds in.

Thanks again everyone and I hope this blog will help you guys.  Looking forward to a great week!
